• There is no provision in the law which states that the facilities which treat the disease of alcoholism must be a minimum distance from schools, residences, or churches.

 

• Many churches, including the Methodist Church on Winkler Road, provide recovery based (AA) meetings, and have Day Care facilities and schools on premises. The Methodist Church hosts AA meetings and Bright Beginnings Early School at one location.

 

• 6401 Winkler Rd. and the estate homes to the south are in a future land use category of Central Urban.

 

• Future land use of central urban encourages commercial use of land.

 

• The main structure of 6401 Winkler Rd. is 17,000 ft.². It is a vandalized structure in disrepair. Lee County deemed this an abandoned structure in 2014.

• In order to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for residents, The Holistic Center will not admit anyone convicted of a violent crime or sexual crime.

 

• The Holistic Center is 100% voluntary admission. No person can be mandated (Court Ordered) to this facility.

 

• The Holistic Center is not a mental health facility and will not admit patients in need of inpatient Mental Health care. Patients in need of this care are best served by facilities which specialize in mental health care.

 

• All persons employed by The Holistic Center undergo a rigorous background check and psychological testing in order to facilitate a safe environment for residents.

 

• The Holistic Center has voluntarily placed a number of additional conditions upon itself to ease concerns in the area.

 

• The Holistic Center is a long term inpatient facility with Medical Directors, 24 hour medical care and 24 hour security.

 

• The Holistic Medicine Center will treat the entirety of the person, Body, Mind, and Soul.

 

• The 5 acre campus includes Medical Offices and a Medi-Spa, a retreat center, a Yoga room, a lap pool, a library, meditation gardens, a labyrinth and a chapel.

 

• All meals will be prepared in house, in concert with a nutritional expert.

 

• The Holistic Medical Center is located in the College Parkway Medical corridor, ensuring ease of access for both Physicians and Patients alike.
